Rogue Earth

Rogue Earth is a factual series about catastrophic weather events and the survivors who captured it all on their cameras and smartphones. Home videos, desperate voice mails, 911 calls, urgent texts, Tweets, and Facebook posts, combine with interviews and expert testimony to create an epic dramatization of the trauma people and communities endured in their increasingly hostile environment. Whether trapped, attempting to flee, or preparing for the worst, they all have one thing in common: they press ‘record’ and capture scenes of extraordinary natural violence unfolding right in front of their eyes. Emotions escalate with in-depth interviews fleshing out the victims’ stories before, during, and after the events. The series relies on honest, personal and surprisingly diverse accounts of first hand experiences, to illustrate how real lives were impacted. Every episode, Mother Nature upends entire communities turning them into crime scenes. Scientists become detectives looking for answers. They need to identify any human factors that contributed to the catastrophe or find clues that might’ve warned a super disaster was on its way… The mission: to better predict, and help the public prepare for “the next one”.
